FINAL CONFERENCE PROGRAM

FINAL CONFERENCE PROGRAM - BEYOND THE END OF THE WORLD

Welcome to our conference on some of the most pressing issues of our time, how to struggle and live in an age of climate disaster. Our program brings together the radical left and the environmental movement in critical meetings and convergences. We bring together activists and perspectives from both the global and the local. We look at the concrete and the abstract. We are very proud of our amazing program and we hope to see you in Malmö on 28-29th of October! 1.

2. DECOLONIAL PERSPECTIVES - Samidoun (Swe/Pal), NCDK (Swe, various), Sami activist (Nor)

In this panel we bring together different decolonial movements such as the Palestinian prisoners support network, Samidoun, NCDK from the Kurdish liberation movement, and Sami activists from Norway. As we move further into climate disasters the decolonial perspective becomes ever more important as marginalised groups in the global periphery are put on the frontline. We will discuss how to make a truly global resistance and solidarity where the struggle against climate change is embedded in struggles against capitalism, racism and colonialism.

3. OPEN SPACE

An open program point for our participants to do with what they will. Impromptu lecture? Important meeting? A workshop? A space for planning the future?

13.30-15.00

1. ERFARENHETER FRÅN SKOGSKAMP - Blodsstensskogen (Swe)

Beskrivning: TBA.

2. KLIMATRÖRELSEN: NARRATIV, STRATEGI OCH RESURSER. - A. G Hedvig (Swe)

A workshop where we discuss the current state of the climate movement. What is our narrative? What strategies do we use and what resources do we have access to? How has recent events like the mobilization for Take Concrete Action and the election of the new right wing government changed the conditions for successful climate struggle?

3. ANTIFASCISM AND THE CLIMATE MOVEMENT - Varis Verkosto (Fin), Autonom Organisering (Swe) & Kafka, environmental activist (Swe), Ecosocialists Lund (Swe/various).

The environmental movement is under attack by the radical right both politically and increasingly in the streets. Fascists protect the status quo in society, along with its big, polluting capitalist enterprises. They also function to violently attempt to stabilize the capitalist system in times of crisis. As the climate crisis accelerates and as we threaten capitalist profits by our actions we will see such attacks only increase as we fight for climate justice. In this important panel we bring together activists from the traditional antifascist struggle and environmental activists to learn, discuss strategy and tactics and prepare to face a reactionary future from both street fascism and parliamentary reactionaries.

4. OPEN SPACE

An open program point for our participants to do with what they will. Impromptu lecture? Important meeting? A workshop? A space for planning the future?

15.00-16.30

1. GREEN COLONIALISM AND RESISTANCE IN SÁPMI - Kolonierna (Swe)

The struggle against the mines, the forest companies and the wind power

Do you want to learn more about the exploitation in Sápmi, in the north of Sweden? Then this is something for you. On this point the colonies are standing in the center.

We will start by talking about the increase in scale and speed the exploiting industries are about to take in the name of the so called "green transition". New mega-factories, updated infrastructure, expanded and intensified exploitation.

After that we will talk about the resistance. From Ojnare to Gállok to the Twin Peaks Blockade. What can we learn from the last 10 years of radical environmental struggle? Together we discuss how we can get better and move forward.

2. REPRESSION - Activist old-timers (Swe)

The environmental movement is facing increasing repression as actions are met by harsh jail time followed with political and medial attacks against climate-oriented groups. With experiences of decades of repression against the autonomous movement and radical left, we bring in comrades to discuss experiences of facing and overcoming repression. This amounts to both the practical events of repression but also its political dimensions of splitting our movement as an element within the repressive mechanism.

3. INDIGENOUS RESISTANCE TO EUROPEAN LAND

-GRABS IN COLOMBIA - HOW EUROPEAN COMPANIES LIKE SMURFIT KAPPA ARE USING VIOLENCE TO APPROPRIATE INDIGENOUS LAND AND HOW WE CAN BUILD A MOVEMENT IN SOLIDARITY

- Ecosocialists Lund (Swe/various)

Indigenous people in Cauca, Colombia, are resisting the land-grabbing of European company Smurfit Kappa. Smurfit Kappa is a packaging company, and have used violence to defend their monocultures in Colombia: they also have offices in Malmö and Eslöv. We will talk about the ongoing struggles of Indigenous people there and how we can act in solidarity.

3. OPEN SPACE

16.30-18.00.

1. ANTICAPITALISM AND CENTRALIZATION - Klimataktion (Swe)

When examining the climate crisis we need to look at it from a systems perspective. This means looking our how centralisation versus decentralisation enables climate crisis acceleration. Examining the media, social norms, political, institutions, military, and economic, including money systems from the light of centralised and decentralised and if one of them accelerates climate crisis more than another.

2. THE RADICAL LEFT AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT: A LOVE STORY? - Revolutionary Antifascists (Den), Autonom Organisering (Swe), ...ums Ganze! - Communist Alliance (Ger), Norwegian comrades (Nor), Ende Gelände (Ger)

In this panel we bring together movements from all over Northern Europe to discuss the potential for collaboration between the radical left and the climate movement. What projects have worked? Which futures do we need to build together? What can we learn? We also tackle differences, problems, pitfalls and challenges. Here we deal with large, strategical issues like class and climate, theoretical complications, cultural differences and organizational issues.
